Mothers telling their stories so we all feel less alone

A space for telling our stories
Shame festers in the dark. It is only through exposing our shame to safe people that we allow it to heal
Our Posts
Many of my posts are collaborative blogs by multiple mothers answering the same questions about about a shared experience that impacts mental health during both the perinatal period and throughout the lifespan as a mother.

First-person Refections by Dr. Heather Gonzales
Heather is a mother of two daughters. She lives with Bipolar I and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Heather experienced an acute episode of Postpartum Psychosis (PPP) after the birth of her first daughter and protracted mania after the birth of her second daughter.
Heather is now committed to de-stigmatizing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like: Postpartum Depression, Postpartum Anxiety, Postpartum OCD, Postpartum Psychosis, Birth Trauma-related PTSD, infertility, pregnancy loss and other forms of mental health conditions that result from the perinatal period.
In addition, Heather recognizes that MOTHERHOOD thoughout the life span changes each person’s identify so significantly that the mental health of each individual mother fluctuates no matter the age of their children.
This blog is a place to tell her our stories so that no mother needs to live alone in shame about very universal emotions and feelings.
